Visionworks is recruiting for an experienced, outgoing, friendly, and team oriented candidate to join our staff as an Optician. Opticians are primarily assigned to the retail sales floor. They are responsible for selling eyewear, eyewear products and services utilizing Visionworks "SERVE selling strategy" to Super Serve the Customer's needs.
Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Complete retail final inspection of all eyewear and dispense eyewear to ensure accuracy of prescription, fit and comfort.
Answer telephone promptly and professionally and obtain prescription for in-store customers.
Identify customer's needs through Lifestyle selling techniques and match frame to customer's face shape and prescription.
Stock, clean, and straighten displays; clean and organize the entire store, ensure frames are ticketed properly
Adjust and repair eyewear and process defective, spoiled, and cannibalized frames
Maintain license requirements
Adhere to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. HIPAA)
Complete Company required training programs
Other duties as assigned by management to include opening/closing procedures as well as cross training
Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
2 - 4 years of related optical experience
Optician's State License - depends on State requirements
Bilingual Preferred
Some college
Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms and prescriptions
Able to work a varying schedule to include: days, nights, weekends and holidays

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
